The American Hockey League and the Worcester Sharks announced today that Charter Communications has been named the title sponsor for the 2009 AHL All-Star Classic. The 2009 AHL All-Star Classic presented by Charter Communications will take place at the DCU Center in downtown Worcester on Sunday, January 25, and Monday, January 26.

The 2009 AHL All-Star Classic will take place on Sunday, January 25 and Monday, January 26, at the DCU Center in Worcester, Mass. Tickets for the 2009 AHL All-Star Classic are priced at $40 and $32, granting admission to both the AHL All-Star Skills Competition on Jan. 25 at 4:00 p.m. (ET) and the AHL All-Star Game on Jan. 26 at 7:00 p.m. (ET).

The Worcester Sharks and the American Hockey League raised a 2009 AHL All-Star Classic banner during a special ceremony before the Sharks hosted the Portland Pirates at the DCU Center on Saturday night. The commemorative banner represents Worcester’s selection to host the 2009 AHL All-Star Classic next winter at the DCU Center.

The American Hockey League, in conjunction with The MeiGray Group, has announced that autographed warm-up jerseys from the 2008 AHL All-Star Game are being auctioned off now on theahl.com, with all proceeds going to benefit the Ace Bailey Children’s Foundation, Good Sports, Shriners Hospitals for Children and other AHL charities.
